Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Amukin Design & Advisory ("Amukin," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Parley (the "Service"), available at parley.amukin.com.
1. Who We Are
Parley is operated by Amukin Design & Advisory. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at contact@amukin.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: when you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile information from your Google account, via Firebase Authentication.
- Content you provide: anything you type or upload into a Room, including messages, Room names and descriptions, notes you save, and documents generated within a Room, is stored so the Service can function, e.g. so you can come back to a conversation later.
- API credentials (BYOK): Parley lets you connect your own API keys for AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral, Qwen, SEA-LION, Cohere, or PLaMo). These keys are encrypted before they are stored, using envelope encryption via Google Cloud KMS, and only the Service's runtime system (not Amukin staff) can decrypt them, solely to make API calls to the corresponding provider on your behalf.
- Billing information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number; we retain only your plan tier and subscription status.
- Technical and log data: we keep operational logs (e.g. error messages, timestamps, Room/participant identifiers) to diagnose and fix problems. These logs are not designed to capture your full conversation content.
- Cookies: we use a single functional cookie to remember your language preference. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Authenticate you and secure your account
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Relay your requests to the AI providers you've connected, using your own API key
- Diagnose bugs and improve reliability
- Communicate with you about the Service (e.g. account or billing notices)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversation content to train any AI model of our own.
4. Sharing With Third-Party AI Providers
When you send a message to an AI Participant in a Room, Parley relays that message, along with relevant conversation history, to the corresponding AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Mistral, Qwen, SEA-LION, Cohere, or PLaMo) using the API key you connected. That provider then processes your message under its own terms and privacy policy, which govern how it retains and uses that data. Parley has no control over, and is not responsible for, how a third-party AI provider handles data once it receives your request. We encourage you to review each provider's own privacy policy before connecting it.
5. Other Service Providers
We use the following subprocessors to operate Parley:
- Google Cloud Platform / Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, encryption key management)
- Stripe (payment processing)
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. API credentials are encrypted at rest using envelope encryption (Google Cloud KMS) before being written to our database; the ability to decrypt them is restricted to the Service's own runtime and not available to Amukin staff directly. We use industry-standard access controls to limit who and what can reach your data.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and Room data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a Room at any time from within the app. You can permanently delete your account from the Account page; doing so immediately and permanently deletes your Rooms (including all messages, notes, and documents within them), your connected API keys, and your account itself, and immediately cancels any active paid subscription so you are not billed again. Deletion is irreversible; we cannot recover this data once it's deleted.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly within the app (editing your profile, deleting Rooms, deleting your account). For anything else, contact us at contact@amukin.com. If you are in Japan, these rights are provided consistent with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
9. International Data Transfers
Amukin is based in Japan, and our infrastructure providers (Google Cloud, Stripe, and the AI providers you connect) may process and store data outside Japan. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Children's Privacy
Parley is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
